US, Australian filmmakers die in helicopter crash (AP)

AP - National Geographic says award-winning American cinematographer Mike deGruy and Australian television writer-producer Andrew Wight have died in a helicopter crash in eastern Australia.

It was a neck and neck race at the box office as two movies, Fox's found footage superpowers movie Chronicle and CBS Films' horror flick The Woman in Black , starring Daniel Radcliffe, each vied for the #1 position over the competition. Early estimates have Chronicle at $8.7 million for Friday compared to Woman in Black 's $8.3 million but with the Super Bowl on Sunday, essentially cutting off all moviegoing business at the knees, it's really anyone's game in terms of which movie might win the weekend as both could end up with around $19 million by Sunday, give or take. Check back tomorrow for the full studio estimates but look for this one to be a hotly-contested photo finish right up until Monday when actual box office receipts are reported.

Reuters - Daniel Radcliffe admitted he was drunk while filming some scenes for the "Harry Potter" movies during a period in his life where he was drinking "nightly," the young star said in an interview.
